In order to retain their Council Membership with PRC, REALTORS® who are hired by PRC are subject to random, recurring Background Checks and must maintain a consistent CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index). PRC maintains an ongoing customer survey system in order to assure consumers a consistent high standard of service is maintained.
The 'seed' of what is today PRC began in 1988 with a simple question:
"Shouldn't a person relocating across the street receive the same level of service and cost savings as a corporate relocation transferee moving across the country?"
Having worked with both relocation clients and people who were moving locally, PRC was driven to answer "Of course!" by realizations like:
- Companies that relocate their employees nationwide require ALL VENDORS involved in the process to be highly professional. They are demanding background checks of anyone involved who is in the home of their employee. These employers want background checks conducted on the REALTORS® that work with their employees.
- Background checks are routinely run on baby-sitters, government personal, law enforcement, medical, corporate America, and even ice-cream truck drivers. It follows that ANYONE having access to private homes should be subject to a background check.
- Buyers and sellers who move across the country receive a better level of 'overall' service than buyers and sellers who move across the street, unless they have been using a PRC Council Member™.
- About 80% of all consumer complaints against REALTORS® involve negligent REALTORS® who have less than two years of experience. Unfortunately, these negative experiences cast a negative image against ALL REALTORS® leaving the better, more experienced REALTORS® with a need to set themselves apart from their inexperienced competition.
- Real estate brokers assign the referrals they receive from Relocation Companies to their better, more experienced agents. (This means local buyers and sellers have the risk of working with an inexperienced agent.)
- National transferees (people who are being relocated by their employers) are highly managed, including all of the costs associated with that move. Local buyer and sellers are left on their own and more often than not, pay exorbitant settlement fees while receiving sub-standard service.
One needn't go further than the Internet 'blogs' to learn that there is a general feeling among consumers that REALTORS® are 'money grabbing' and 'ego-centric' people who would do anything to get a commission - except maybe 'work' for it. Of course, to an EXPERIENCED REALTOR® this perception hurts a lot.

One thing PRC likes to remind consumers is that an EXPERIENCED REALTOR® can make all the difference in the world when they buy and sell a home. Having an experienced, non-emotional third party on your side and MANAGING THE DETAILS during one the most emotionally stressful times of your life (buying and selling your home) can either make or save you thousands of dollars - typically considerably more than the commission charged.
It is clear to PRC that most consumers have a difficult time hiring an agent. You may know to interview at least three agents, but you may NOT know what questions to ask; nor do you know how to VERIFY the answers. We know that any INEXPERIENCED agent can buy a $20 sign that proclaims them the "Area Expert". When the inexperienced agent adds a well-known logo to their business card; it becomes obvious why you can so easily get confused and mislead.
In referring buyers and sellers like you to agents all over the country, PRC wants to 'protect' its valued clients from hiring an INEXPERIENCED agent. So, we ask REALTORS® about their credentials and VERIFY what they tell us. Often times, during the verification process, we learn that agents are not always telling us the truth. The result? Other agents and consumers look to PRC for recommendations for other agents based upon their credentials – instead of the car they drive or the jewelry they wear.
